Went back out no hesitation but when pulling in 4th engine light flashes then goes out . Back to garage next day to pull codes NO codes not even historic???

A Common problem with all bugeyes im afraid. The light you are referring to is the CEL light. The most common fixed for this are to check if all of the plugs are gapped properly (as a misfire on any cylinder will show the CEL light) of if you have a faulty Neutral position switch.

Hope this helps

Bloody typical my CEL light came back on today after months of it being OK. On the motorway, needed to pass a car a bit sharpish, dropped from 5th to 4th at about 50 mph and the light came back on..... a trip to Indigo to run diagnostics on it i think.
