Hi there with carbon fibre spoiler and bonnet plus with light weight pulley you will save no much kilos, some carbon bonnets are much heavier than OE..Light weight pulleys you will save maybe few grams not kilos

Classic is lighter around 200-250kg and here is main difference, for start try have look what you can remove and here is few threads about the weight saving on new age...

Power is nothing without the controlling the this power

What "standard" jdm classic does your brother have? Because it sounds as if your car isnt running correctly tbh, I dont have any problems pulling away from a classic 280ps car, so a 220/240/260ps car shouldnt be any effort to a 340bhp new age sti with short gearing.

Weight is a performance killer and thats a fact,When the guys at roger clarke motorsport change the pistons in the new gobstopper 2 car to save weight then you know it is all important, and 250kgs is mahooooosive so personally im not surprised you got smoked off the line by the much lighter classic.

You will still come worse off the line as the new turbo is bigger and will create more lag before coming onto boost. What you need to do is look at making your car more responsive and try to bring the weight down even more. Start by getting better flowing headers and a harvey special up pipe to match the turbo as this will improve spool up. Get the 7B plugs fitted. Look into runnig the car on a meth mix. Get a decent remap. Go on a diet and lose weight.

If you still lose after all this then go out and buy a better classic
