Denso ECU for the bug throws up a CEL for a camshaft position sensor error if you go anywhere near the redline.......it's a known "bug" and changing the sensor won't do anything. Sometimes a clean of the one you have helps.......

Ok that does make a lot of sense i have had it come on when driving hard a few times but then after a couple of times of starting the ignition its gone again but the only thing the other day it came on when i was driving normally so was a little worried then scott at scoobyspares has one for £25 so i think i just change it for peace of mind cheers anyway

The problem lies in the ECU......The Bug DENSO ECU is a bloomin marvel compared to the JECS ECU that it replaced which was in the Classic.

However it was all new and has a few flaws including mis-interpreting the Camshaft position Sensor and also how it looks at the Neutral Position switch.......

People have swapped it over and it's cured but others have swapped and it persists..

I just live with it LOL

Got the same issue; glad I found this as I was going to get it fixed in the garage next week.

I have been clearing my code using a bluetooth OBDII tool, plugs into the port under the steering wheel and links to an app on my phone called Torque. Theres an option to display codes and clear them, as well as giving you a load of other readings, like revs, boost etc..

If you're living with this bug then might be worth getting one of these. I think mine was about £18 from eBay plus about £1.50 for the app. Cheers.
