help with ecu and engine number
hi sn party people ok so last year i took on my first scooby... az it is iv not had chance to do anything with it yet it's just sat in the lockup looking dusty the car has got 1 or 2 mods fmic bov and some apix and hks bits ,fcd and such.. now iv been told it had an engine rebuild and the bottom end is out of a new shape car and is ment to be a redtop bottom end sti crank and all that.. now this is were i need help im not sure which version the bottom end is out of.... now the ecu says v7 onit in big letters (version7 mayb )and the engine number is 68074m if any 1 can help me out it will be much appreciated the car model number is gc8bk8d thank agan

Not sure what your asking to be honest,
Your car has had a newage short motor fitted using your existing heads etc...
The V7 is the ECU model number out of a classic shaped impreza, This does not relate to a newage car(as in Version 7) as it would not fit the wiring loom and would not work for many other reasons too.
There is no such thing as a redtop bottom end, I know what your getting at though, It has been removed from an Sti with a red inlet manifold.
All short motor/Bottom ends are inter-changeable across all years 92-05 and changing this would not require changing the ECU.
Still not sure what your question is but i hope this helps, lol,

all im trying to find out is the year of the engine and type ie wrx sti type uk and so no
and thought the ecu may give some clue.. still loads to learn yet m8
been told loads about the car from loads of people but iv taken most of it with a pinch of salt tbh m8 such az the red top bottom end tail.. so id like to find out off people in the know to be 100%
is there a way to tell the type/year of the engine form the engine number
wot type of impreza came with the v7 ecu
been looking about goodle and on here with no joy
also can any1 tell me wot type ov trim carrys the code 410 the car is a 94/94 gc8
