Default poss wheel bearing fail

hi i have recently started getting a loud winnieing sound like a brake binding sound in my front drivers side wheel . Its all the time not only when breaking. I immeddiately thought brake pads so went and got some new 1s but on fitting them iv noticed i still have a fair amount of meat on my old 1s. Now i am thinking wheel bearing any other thoughts, i have'nt! removed the old pads they are still in place as can clearly see the meat on them

Have you jacked that corner up and given the wheel a `wiggle`? When mine went, well, collapsed, there was a lot of movement.

Maybe it`s only just starting to go, although I was told by the garage that when they go, they just collapse.

Is it still doing it?

The original brakes have a habit of picking up pebbles and trapping them between disc and rear disc protector.
