What Block for big bhp
Looking at achieving 600+ bhp - got the heads etc to withstand it - but need to get another block built.
What should I be looking for - 2.1 or 2.3 etc etc

Is your car a daily driver or weekend toy?
600bhp+ is going some, and as you probably know will need the rest to support it. I have a 2.1 Time attack engine out there doing over 600bhp but going back to what I said that has race fuel system, turbo, ecu, fuel mix, and so on.
You say you have heads, which ones and current spec? Probably 2.35 would be better way, built plenty of these and building 2.1 and 2.35 weekly.
Feel free to contact me
Cheers
Stephen.

Trouble is the higher you shoot for power the less drivable it becomes ie the super bike would roast a 600bhp scoob through bends given it has power as soon as he pulls the throttle where as it takes a little spool time between on/off throttle with the car.
I'd say you need to adjust/practise your driving if your struggling with most bikes with 427bhp on a SC series billet turbo mate or get the car setup on the handling side better imho.

I agree with prodriverules, just big power is not the end of it. The handling needs to be right and then the power needs to be a balance between drivability and outright grunt. I am currently running at 440 bhp on the clinics rollers, i have worked on the suspension and feel I have a good setup. If I get the engine rebuilt I want strength but will not be looking at going much above 500 bhp to keep the drivability

Hang on a moment didn't you have a purple and green big bhp build for sale recently
It would take one hell of a rider to lose a 400+bhp classic in the bends and i'm talking rossi.
Thats if the bloke in the scoob can drive, and on the straights bike as you say has a major advantage, power to weight ratio's on modern 1000cc bikes is immence.
You shouldn't be racing bikes with a car if they get it wrong it dont bare thinking about.
Get a bike and tune that far cheaper than a 600bhp scoob.
I had a go on a chipped zx12r that was good for 210mph and cost £4k and was mental lifting the front wheel at 150mph You WILL need 10 times that for 600bhp.
