Smoking turbo housing on a classic

Smoking turbo housing on a classic
I've got a '98 classic, and had it about 8 years now. recently it has started to have a bit of a burning oil smell, not from the exhaust but the engine bay, as if an oil leak is dropping onto something hot. I've just had a look and it seems to be coming from the turbo casing.
As this car has been so reliable over the years I've not had to do any repairs, so any ideas as to the cause and repair would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Ah.....just be sure, though, since the culprit is often the o/s rocker gasket, which allows oil to weep onto the headers. The fumes then funnel up past the turbo, since it is so hot, and warm air rises.
If you have an undertray on, feel down the o/s of the engine, find the rocker to head seal, run fingers along it: any oil?
If so, wipe with paper towel, etc, repeat after a few hours.....
Now if that area ISN'T leaking, THEN you can suspect the turbo

Thanks for the pointers guys. I REALLY hope it's just the rocker gasket. I've not had a chance to look just yet, too many festivities.
I will let you know the outcome.
