Default Help! radiator gc8 classic

FFS. just got home from work, went to answer the door 5 mins later and saw a small drip of coolant from the front bumper area, out came the torch, and have found a small, ( approx 15mm long) crack in the plastic side casing on the drivers side of the radiator. Not happy, now the chances of sorting before xmas are very slim as i'm on 12 hour days.
i may be able to bodge it up for the weekend.
My question is, anybody come across this?
why would it do this?
I'm really hoping someone's not gonna say it's pressurised and i now need a head gasket?
any advice chaps please.
very quickly going of this car
cheers

common fault on the early rads mate, just change it you will probably be fine. Get a patterned one from ebay for about £40 last time i checked, perfectly fine
