16G on a 2.5
I am planning to run my forged 2.5 with a hybrid FMIC , 440cc and new ECU.
Had anyone had this combination ? I know thw 16G is small, but its just a stop gap whle I look for another turbo, injectors and gearbox.

Blue ? maybe i can reflow the 440c , not sure as thet are phase 1.5's . The plan is 370bhp, but needs to be done in stages. i am planning on a 5 speed typr R box , as i think it will be ok, i would go for the 6 speed option, but its 1.5x the cost. Either way the largest turbo i am going for will be 20G. With the desired 8.5:1 compression i am after fast spool and in an old classic that should be a very good combination for the road.

Newge WRX injectors were blue but the 2.5 injectors (both WRX and STi) are a slightly different shade of blue........
I just assumed you had dropped a 2.5 into a bug / blob WRX, sorry.

Hi, i'm assuming you have a classic as you refer to 440's and Phase 1.5's (V3/4)
Phase 1.5's cannot be re-flowed....you will need a set of Phase 2's as only these can be re-flowed...plus upon refitment you will need the necessary converters to fit into your manifod.
20G on 2.5 should be quite good at that CR, i'm assuming you have the correct heads for the 2.5 as otherwise you may have more problems on your hand.
Furthermore dependent on what your paying for the 550's and if your going for Nismos then just go the whole hog and go 740's....although i would say you need to speak and confirm with your mapper prior to buying these.
Good luck.

I went for the phase 1.5's as a direct replacement to get me started, that gives me time to sort 550cc at a later date and a carl davey kit or similar, I keep my eyes open, sometimes some upgraded parts at a good cost. I have gone for Sti V4 heads, as they have solid lifters and are I think the best heads for my inlet.

440cc on a 2.5 forged engine will seriously restrict power output, even below the capability of a good 16G.
Consider a set of reflowed phase two injectors and adaptor kit. The phase 2 injectors are available for £50-£100 max. A typical price for phase 2, supplied, reflowed, matched and fitted with an adaptor kit is under £350. you would find a proper 20G a very good turbo on your spec. Good power, torque and spool. £850. Only one mapping session.
