has my car been remapped? how do I tell?
the reason I ask is that when i got it it had a catback fitted and a ITG panel filter.
the car runs fine and boosts to 1 to 1.1 bar, although boost is alittle wobbly so going to look at the solenoid.
the reason for my question is that boost isn't limited in first and second gear and im lead to believe that it should be?
also i figured that if the cat had been fitted again this would potentially drop the boost a tiny bit hiding higher boost set from the remap
I can get onto the OBD system from my Galaxy Tab and the Torque programme but I feel that this will not help!

Who led you to believe the boost is limited in 1st/2nd? thats a new one on me!
standard boost on a 51 bug is 0.8 bar so if you're making over 1bar then you either have a dicky gauge or a remap. Having said that, it would be unusual to map to such a low boost, so you may have a PPP ecu which boosts to 1.1 bar.
The cat doesnt make/affect boost, the turbo makes the boost and is controlled by the solenoid.
Easiest way to check is to take it to a tuner/mapper. they'll tell you just by plugging a gizmo in.
