Default whats the valve called at the back of manifold

On the back of the inlet manifold my00 classic there is a valve of which i have removed the pipework whats this called and can i just remove it and bung it up.

Sounds like the PCV to me. Can be bunged with no real ill effects, basically it applies a small vacuum to the crank when not under boost so drawing fresh air into the block - theoretically this is to remove condensation etc.
