A bigger turbo, an after market ecu or piggyback type (both are not exactly cheap), upgraded brakes (your 2 pots really are bad), panel filter, maybe some upgraded injectors whilst your at it and a health check on the car to see if it can take 300+bhp, its 14 years old so the average miles on it will be around 140k.

Choice of turbos from a TD05 16G, vf 30/34/35/43/48.
If you went 550cc injectors and depending how you built your engine, though you have to remember your clutch and gearbox are going to suffer as they are probably the weakest ones they put in scoobs so torque will kill them quite easily but 330bhp is a good figure to aim for

for your 97 wrx you dont really want to be going over 335bhp as the engine and box will be rather streched to say the least, easy way to 330bhp, 440cc injectors £40-£50, tdo5 turbo £50-£100,decat up pipe £50ish second hand, full de cat zorst could pick a nice second up for £150 ish, fmic or newage sti top mount £100 plus, remap several options, esl board £550 all inc, simtek £1000 ish or there are many more options,. just my view so im sure people will also comment,.

If you opt for a td05 you will need it converting to front entry. You can buy one already converted from the likes of andy foresst, etc or you can buy a compressor cover already with the snorkel cut off and a section welded on from the likes of David at API iirc.
All the vf turbos wont need converting - straight bolt on

Per Tony's post # 2. Injectors, turbo and after market ECU will get you 300 bhp.
Yellow 440cc injectors max out after 320 bhp and are cheap.
550cc will take you close to 400 bhp without an FPR.
Turbos. Front entry TD05 16 G. 18G. Both rugged turbos.
VF24, VF28,29,30, 35,34 and so on.
Your choice of injectors and turbo will determine your ultimate power potential.
Go beyond 320 bhp and you need an FMIC. Buy the most efficient and not the cheapest.

You are obviously running an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and this is an expense the OP does not need to bear. I guess you didn't take in to account your use of an aftermarket FPR. Useful to extend the scope of injectors by a few percent if you are prepared to bump the fuel pressure.
At some point after 320 bhp, 440cc injectors will max out. By way of example I had to fit 550cc injectors to an STi 6 just over 320 bhp and on my own STi 3 Wagon I had 99% duty cycle at 335 bhp / 333 ft.lbs.
Add to that different rolling roads giving different figures. 422 bhp at Scooby Clinic is 421 bhp at EvoTune but 448 bhp at Motoscope for instance. Same car, same fuel, indeed Scooby Clinic and Motoscope figures were on the same tank of fuel.
The point is that if someone is relying on advice as to where they can go with a set of yellow injectors it cannot be predicted accurately as it will vary car to car.
