Default Clutch occationally slips.

Ok a few days ago I was trundling along and I just put my foot down in 5th and the revs jumped up about 500 revs briefly and dropped 500 when I backed off.
Today it did it again just the once.
I then drove about 50 miles up and down the dual carriage way trying to get it to do it again but it won't.

To sum up just after the car warms up on a cold day it slightly slips once.
I've tried clutching slightly as I floor it in 5th and when I release the clutch it still bites sharply.
There's no smell,no leaks,no juddering, biting point is about half of the pedals travel.
I've floored it uphill in first and 5th but its fine.

Anyone else get it on a cold day?or only occationally ?

Danny.

Cheers for the replies guys.
I've just been out for another drive up the steepest hill round here, empty road so I did a few hill starts and can't get it to do it.I went up it 3 times in 1st 2nd and 3rd and nothing.I can't do it in 4th unless I want to jump over meliden mountain.
I've been up and down a dual carriage way near me 6 times in 1st to 4th from 2000rpm up to 6000 then from 2000 to 5500 in 5th and again nothing.
It's booked in tomorrow for an exhaust, wax oil and a lambda sensor so I'll ask him to check it out.

Ps I forgot to add to the original post that when it slipped there was no loss in acceleration and the car is a v5 type r.

Danny.

to be honest i think if its anything like mine was it wont do it when you want it to i had mine changed before it was to late . but mine only done it 3 times over a period of 2weeks and 400miles. .. i kind of knew it was going as 2 weeks earlier i had gone from 280bhp to 367bhp and 420lbs which is all good but not on a standard clutch lol

I'll order one for this next week just to be safe.
I've just noticed on Aztec's site they have an offer on the Exedy organic racing clutch reduced to £285.
Is this a good one to go for?

I've just phoned the garage and instead of it going in tomorrow he's having it on Tuesday and do the clutch at the same time as the other bits.

That's a cracking price thanks Dave.
The clutch will be coming off on Tuesday so I'll see if I need anything else at the same time and I'll place an order.

Thanks everyone.I'd be lost without this forum.
