52 wrx bug engine info
hi all , looking at going down the route of buying an engine for my 52plate wrx bug eye. mine has burnt the valves and valve seats out and is going to work out costly by the time i have the heads re conditioned and buy all the parts to put it back together so looking to buy a complete motor!
hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction as to where and what i can buy ?
found a re built forester engine been running an auto box could this be converted to manual and fitted to my car ?
does it matter wether its from a classic or new age im a novice when it comes to subarus and really would appreceiate any feed back any of you can give .. thanks very much .

bug
problem is the cost of gaskets and timing belt and tensioners water pump and all that goes with putting it back together, was just thinking would be easier and possibly cheaper to buy a complete engine and throw it in!

The problem with buying a second hand engine is that you don't know what's inside the block...... could last 100,000 miles could last 10 miles
Check out the price of bug heads from some of the breakers on here, can't imagine they are worth much, certainly less than a re-con you were quoted.....
