Talking cylinder head tool wrx 2004

hi ive beeb told by a garage in france that they need a special tool to take the cylinder head off my subaru wrx 2004 is this is true are they fobbing me off theyve had the car for a month now
any hep is appreciated

no dont think so? just cams out and that will give access to the head bolts, which are generally just 12 point headed bolts...?

As above - no special tools needed to remove the heads - 14mm 12 point socket for the head bolts.

Cam pulley retainer to allow you to remove the bolt holding it to the camshaft

im sure a garage could get a bit creative to get round that...? does that not just give them something to hold the sprocket still with whilst undoing the nut so you dont just turn the cam?
