Hi there your turbo is in WRX 2003 TD04,which with right mods and remap will be producing around 270-280bhp

Which turbo you can straight fit,i would say loads, just depends how much bhp you want.

For 350bhp perfect turbo will be VF34/TD05-18G/VF43-48 and you will need STi pink injectors as well, plus mapping Open source or ecuTek

Simtek is an ecu, afaik.

Best to contact a well-repected mapper on here for advice, PM is good.

Jolly Green Monster, Duncan at Dynamix, Fiesta Boy.

Ok if you have all ready STi pink injectors, you will need only turbo and about the ECU,your OE ECU is mappable and can be mapped via Open source or ecuTek with any turbo..
About the SimTek i'm not fan of these ECU,but technically its good ECU with good functions like mafless(you will run without the MAF),good boost control, two fuel and boost maps etc.

Depends on your feelings and how much you can have simTek

Again, ask a mapper. None seem to be on here at the mo. Try PMs to those three and an e-mail to Bob Rawle at BR Developments.

Simtek is a stand alone ECU, for the sort of power you are after, you can have your current ECU mapped for around £250 using open source software. (Simtek will set you back around a grand)

The mapping iteslf is bespoke to your car, each mapper will have a set of base maps to work from & map your car based on the modifications fitted.

Hope that helps.

In this case VF34,TD05-18G,VF43-48 and remap and you have what you want, just upgrade your brakes and clutch too there

VF34 or TD05-18G are best in my view.

VF43 or VF48 are good turbos, but these are great on AVCS heads and 2.5L,which you don't have and no sure how will perform on yours

For the TD series, give Harvey Smith a try, posts on here as harvey, and he will also advise on headers, up-pipes etc to match whatever turbo you want to fit, and get the best from it, early spool etc.

Plus he has weekends when ace mapper Bob Rawle is up there, about every 6 weeks or so......

20g might be a bit laggy on your car. Ask Harvey.

Also, beware of ebay turbos, unless you know what you are doing, there are some NASTY cheap copies out there.

You DO get what you pay for.........

Found it on e-bay.........£300 is a LOW price for that turbo new...............

On eBay TD range turbos are usually cheap Chinese copies due this buyer beware,20G on yours will be laggy,if you are looking for spool and power as above contact Harvey for 18G turbo and really Harvey will answer on your question without the doubts.

VF34 are rare turbos, but sometimes just need keep eye on ebay or Pistonheads or here.

A genuine TD05 18g would meet your requirements, or an SC360, but that's probably outside of your budget for a turbo.

Mapping wise opensource and Ecutek have the same results so pick based on the mapper you want to use.

Hope this helps,

Graham

You will be hard pressed to get an 18G, you would be better off with a VF34/35. I guess you could always go for an MD321H, but you probably won't get one for £500.

Maybe save a bit more cash for the right turbo? Simon, JGM will see you right.

New 18G with 12 month warranty with a history of good results is £725. Will fit for £50.
E-mail me if you want to go through a full spec and mapping info.

Because you won't get a decent second hand one, see Harvey's post regarding the new price.

Harvey is a very trusted supplier & a nice guy to deal with. i wouldn't hesitate to buy from him. A+++
