Supposed to feel very similiar to OEM. Maybe slightly heavier. Andy F runs one in his daily driver coping with in excess of 500 Bhp. So plenty of scope should you wish to upgrade further

A lot of people say the cheapest way is to bring one in from the states yourself. With the current exchange rate you're looking at around £500-£550 for the clutch.

Any dealers who see this that would like to quote feel free

AP clutch would handle that power, and feels exactly like a standard clutch.

I've spoken with APi and they recommend their comp clutch, anyone had this in there newage? Mine is running 390bhp and is starting to slip atouch in 4th/5th (only slipped twice to be fair).

anything that can cope with 411 and be reliable will more than likely be heavier than std and or you might get a judder,
and to get a good clutch you will be looking above £500

Sorry about daft comment earlier,

ha its ok m8,
dont mind the 500 so much, but the most important thing is to get it as light as poss. the one ive got atm is fairly heavy, and my knee can start to play up on long journeys - had it replaced a few years ago, so not as strong as a "real" knee joint.

I had the Helix in my Bug. Very std feeling clutch at around the £600 mark.

Give Alyn a call at AS Performance 0191 4103770. He will advise you on a suitable one.

Twin plate all the way. Just put one in mine. Deffinatley worth the extra cash. Feels standard, even the wife can use it and easily handles my 238 bhp.

I have the CC Stage 2 + replacement lightened/skimmed OEM flywheel (7kg IIRC). This was all recommended & supplied/fitted by Dave/API. I'm running 384/349, and so far so good.

But not really hooned all that much since it was fitted (only about 3 months ago).

Hi are you going for a light weight fly wheel aswell?

Have you seen this http://forums.evolutionm.net/vendor-...ss-review.html

I was going to go for a an ACT as I dont want any rattles or judder that the exedy's are supposed to give, but not being able to get into gear at high rpm has really put me off.

Not sure what to do now, Exedy pink or Ap or ACT.

Clutches are torque rated, not bhp.

My last STI ran approx 340lb ft for 3 years on the standard clutch

ACT Extreme street disc is what i use. Its perfect & good for 567ft lbs. Easy on the peddle & not noisy. The noise & peddle hardness depends on the type of disc you go for.

I was wondering where you got this from and if you are using a flywheel also?

I bought it from the states. SB4-XTSS comes with Extreme pressure plate & sprung street disc. So its very similar to the OEM clutch. I am using stock flywheel for now.

It was cheap aswell
