wrx hatch not much power
Hi i bought myself my first ever scooby last janurary and love it but was a little disapointed with its 227 power output , its a stock 2008 wrx hatchback i dont have loads of money to throw at it mainly cos it is not my only car and i did pay 12 k for it . Has any one got any suggestions as what i can do to increase it without breaking the bank . I was toying with the idea of putting a adjustable turbo pressure valve/bleed valve on it but i have heard mixed views on this .opinions please !

A remap for £500 should see you at 260bhp ish
With a few other simple mods you might see 280bhp

The WRX is a real puller when mapped. The turbos aren't as efficient as the older TD04s but with a decent cat back exhaust, filter and a map you can see 360lb/ft of torque at 3000rpm and a peak of around 250-260bhp at 5800rpm.
What you must be aware of is the pistons are prone to cracking on the ring lands with a lot of boost. It's hit and miss, but the suggestion would be to replace the pistons with forged items to be able to really push the engine hard.

Yea spot on about the breaks they can be shocking at times ,my 57 plate bravo t jet sport are better and thats only a 1.4 . I thats why im dissapointed with the power output ,thought i would have had more from a 2.5 turbo but hay ho.
