Got an issue with MY93 Wrx,
been stood for 6 months whilst having some bits sorted,
had it runing ok on saturday was idleing fine, reved up great moved it around all ok,
then today it wouldnt start up greatly sounded lumpy lots of pops, then it started but only idleing with me holding the throttle then that cleared, was idleing for 10mins all normal then was unsetled idle but again cleared and i went to move it but now as soon as you hold the throttle in any postion its hunting between 1.2-2k and thats all it does idles ok but hunting any ideas?
no engine managment light, and engine was upto temp also

Old fuel?

 

6 months shouldnt be a problem id of thought,
had new coolant temp sensor also, another used icv as mine was up the duff.

 

Could be fuel pump on way out. But try clean fuel and put cleaner in as well fuel line mite be bloked

 

throttle position sensor maybe

 

well lad havin same sort off problems and real lumpy idle and a lot of pops when she is warm car lay up for near 2-3 years changed oil/filters/air+fuel and new fuel no difference also cleaned and fitted new earths on the engine and body?? no eml ??

 

that sounds like coolant temp sensor mate thats the problem i had so took the car of the road to get all the niggle problems sorted and that was one sensor i bought new.

 

throttle postion sensor wasnt undone mate so not sure, im woundering if lambda?
