I will try to keep this short as possible, I have a 1997 uk impreza, I was involved in a accident about 3mths or so ago, And the car was taking of the road,

Previous to the accident the car was running 100% fine with not one issue, But now it back and running the car has a problem which is confusing me lol,

Easier to list wot i am suffering from and go from there.

1. Idle drop's to around the 150rpm mark once warm but fine on cold
2. Get back fire but not just a normal pop a real bang like A/L
3. Engine check light comes on and goes off under 1000rpm, Then after a short period of this stays on all the time,
4. Got fault code 45 and 24, but have replaced both MAF and MAP sensor
5. Can drive the car fine for a hr or so with no problem's at all and all of a sudden it goes wrong,

I may have a very small hole in the fmic and i have moved the air filter about 6" so half in and half out of wing, Apart from this nothing has changed.

 

The hole will defo cause issues. If the position of the maf has changed, i.e if it is plugged in the wrong way round you will also get similar issues.

 

Gonna be the hole in the inter cooler allowing un measured air into the system

 

It has a small hole in the fmic, But wot i don't understand is i done a 150ml round trip with no problem, Then a mile from home it started playing up,

Then the next day it does it from 1st turn of the key, How would i do a reset on the ecu as i thinking car been sat for 3mths with no battery connected ?.
