Same as a version 5/6 STI, same map but with more knock correction added, so its a VF28 turbo, standard STI "forged" pistons for v5/6 cars, fast rack steering, but if you look at it basically its a v5 car (not a 6 as its based on a MY99 car) STI in a type R shell.

As said, pretty much a standard STI 5 map from new but will much benifit from a good Ecutek map.

Also will be better for the car to run on UK fuel like Shell V-Power etc.

I've had mine done by Bob Rawle and it's running sweet.

Its not a forged engine, just the pistons and those are not the best forged items in the world (say as apposed to the new age STI pistons), the rest is, well similar to the standard turbo/wrx, same rods, crank etc.
VF28 should see you to 320-330bhp.

wouldnt say thats silly money for an 11 year old car ? , think the p1's are overpriced compared to what you can get for similar cash of a normally priced p1

will someone explain why you would spend more on a p1 than a type r ? and btw type r's are 2 door sti's are they not ?

not being biased towards them , they look great but just a blue type r to me , with less ? no dccd etc

As much as i love classics.... Sti 8 has more potential i think. If you evere decide to go for bigger power than 330 bhp you'll spend almost twice as much on a classic than you would on new age to get them to the same reliable power level.
