Default Z4 vs. 2c with unknown chip?

Hey guys, I have an 2c ecu on my car at the moment and it seems to be chipped somehow. I have really high fuel consumption at the moment and would like to change to a z4.

So is a unchipped z4 how much less powerful than the 2c with chip?

from experience the z4 ecu is very good. ideally it needs super unleaded fuel like 98 or 99 ron. do you have that in finland?
it makes very good power concidering it only makes 12.7 psi.

Hi, thanks for the quick answer. We have 99 and Shell Vpower.
I always use Vpower 99plus

best thing to do is post a picture of the inside of the ecu so we can confirm if its chipped or not.

I was told by a mechanic who was working on my car doing an emission test and he said the car is running rich because of an chip?

I cannot today take a picture, but maybe later

Because it's running rich is not an indicator of a chipped ecu. Best way to tell is to see what boost pressure it is running using a boost gauge, most 4 plug aftermarket chips run 15-16.5psi.

He just said that they could not pass the emission test without changing the ecu for the test and that it was chipped

if its been chipped properly it will still pass the emissions. would suggest you get the car very hot before taking the test and if it still fails suspect lambda. if i were you id fit the z4 anyway. its a very good map.

The z4 seems tempting because of the originality and not some dodgy chip I was not told about when buying the car, so it would be a good change in my eyes too
