Default Stainless Jubilees?

Ok so i've just had a coolant flush and been told to get some stainless jubilee clips to replace the wire type OEM ones on the radiator (also what sizes do i need?)... nowhere local to me does them - they all do 'standard' ones....will these rust?

Ask either at a local motor factors, or local radiator place, just buy two decent ones, cost you around £3.

FYI, the INTERNAL diameter of the coolant pipes, top and bottom hoses, is 28mm, so around 32-35mm outside diameter.

There is no such thing as quality jubilee clips, they all break if you overtighten them

If they are stainless steel they will be stronger than the mild steel zinc plated crap you normally get though.

Actually Stainless Jubilee's vary greatly and like most things you get what you pay for, I work with these things eveyday.
If you let me know your sizes or the hoses you want them for I can probably sort some out for you.

Actually stainless is MORE likely to chew the threads up than a mild steel one. Or shear off the bolt/screw head

Depends on the type, some stainless jubs are too thin, if they are a cut thread rather than a thread that goes right thru they are pretty tough. The jubs with athread cut right thru, or stamped, may as well be made of cadburys flake.

Also correct.

They are good for induction pipes, etc, but I'd think twice about using one on the cooling system main pipes.

I hate them even in that application as the holes act like a cheese grater on your nice silicon hoses.

Well I say cheese grater but its more like those pressure play-doh cutters of old

Best quality ones I have used and the original Jubilee clip brand.

The other hose clips you can buy are guff to be honest.

www.anyclamp.com supply Mikalor clips and are one of the best available. They have smooth internal surface so doesnt chew up your hoses.
