Default Does heatwrapping require a remap?

Say you heatwrap the headers, up-pipe and downpipe with no other mods - would this require a remap?

No all it does it carry the heat away from the engine bay and thus it will be cooler in the engine bay - colder air is more dense for combusion

Cheers. I was thinking of the hot gases getting out the exhaust faster with all the pipes wrapped and wondered if this would need accounting for somewhere in the map.

On a completely unrelated note, do you think it's possible to get 320lb/ft from a standard TD04 with the following mods taken into consideration:

Full turbo-back de-cat
De-catted up-pipe
3-port boost solenoid
Headers, up-pipe and downpipe heatwrapped

Cheers.

Your wrong- thats not "all it does" Yes it does do that, BUT the main point in heat wrapping is to retetain the heat energy and hence pressure and speed of the exhaust gasses in the manifold, providing less lag and more energy for the turbo to spool faster and harder.
It will change some parameters withing the engine management as you have altered the VE (volumetric effecientcy) of the engine, BUT a remap is not required, what everyone on this forum seems to forget is these ars care adaptive, they have knock sensing and air MAFF meters so small changes like intercoolers and manifolds can be accounted for withing the engine managements capabilitys. For example you dont need a remap from summer +25 degrees to winter -5 degrees do you? NO, the car will adapt for the colder conditions, and will, in fact, go faster all by itself!
I think there are a lot of people out there making big money on unnesesary re-maps! get yourself a wideband lambda and keep and eye on the AFR, the ignition timing look after itself.

Well said Boosted, totally agree. Also heat wrapping can help to crack your headers, have you thought about that?
