Default Oil

Hey

I have a 2002 bugeye wrx with a remap to 290 bhp, she is currently running Millers 10w60 CFS oil but I have been told that this is a bit too thick for the engine and to try 10w40 for normal use or 10w50 for high rev range.

So will be looking at 10w40 - but as I start my car in the mornings when its very cold outside I have also been told to consider using a 5w40 - would people on here agree?

Also what are peoples prefered brands ? does the scooby engine react well to different oils ? At the moment it has Millers CFS which is approx #50 for 5 litres.

Cheers for the help in advance
Matt

National tyres will do an oil and filter change very cheap, go to there website and input your details, will use castrol edge too.

w40 is far better for your car than that goo of a 60 weight oil, especially with winter (i run a 5w40 all year round with more power than your car is pushing), 60 is too thick for 95% of scoobs, only those running serious power that produce serious heat need use it, and even then a 50 weight would suffice.
Stick with either a 5 or 10 cold weight.
