which gearbox for a classic??
hi ,i have an early 93 wrx around the the 300bhp mark, 2nd gear syncro is starting to go !! so i was wondering if its worth swaping to an sti box and rear diff or just to stick another wrx box back in ,i do plan to up the power next year with a forged engine build ,simtek ecu etc ,but not to clued up on the boxes available ,i know the sti has closer gear ratios and the ra even shorter, but they also have a higher rev limit so not sure what to do, dont want to loose top end speed, the car gets mainly used for fast road use ,any advice would be great

Yours is the 'weakest "TY752..." 5-sp - and getting on for 20yo now!
A nice upgrade that won't break the bank (i.e. not a 6-sp!) will be the later TY754 5-sp box from a low miles car i.e. from a late STi 5 or 6, or a Bugeye WRX one.
My OEM STi 5's one is so far holding out at 384/349.
Just make sure you choose one with appropriate ratios. Speak to APIDavid - he'll know all there is to know about recommending you the correct ratios/'box code, etc...
