Hawkeye 2.5 into Blobeye wrx ????

Hawkeye 2.5 into Blobeye wrx ????
Hi Long time lurker on and off through the years and now hoping someone can help me!
I have a 2004 Blobeye with the bottom end gone and have been offered a 2.5 hawkeye engine from a 2006 car at a good price (i'm in the trade so called in a favour ) Now i know the STI has the variable cam pulley system and that make that engine swap a bit of a mission, however i'm not so sure the wrx hawkeye 2.5 engine has that set up so not sure if this would be a fairly straight swap other than remapping ecu etc or even swapping the ecu from the hawkeye along with keys etc ? Anyone done this swap or know if its possible with out opening a whole world of hurt
