Is an uprated FPR required ?
Hi all,
Slowly building a parts list ready for a re-map late this/early next year to get my UK Turbo upto around the 280-300 mark and was wondering if an aftermarket/uprated fuel reg was needed for this level ?
Ta,
Sorry, is a Classic year 2000

If you have an uprated fuel pump I would recommend an uprated or atleast a new standard FPR.
I lost an engine due to a standard fuel reg failing.
Basically the walbro pump overpowered the standard FPR and fuel pressure dropped enough for me to melt a piston.
An aftermarket FPR would have stopped that from happening. Food for thought.

Thanks daz,
I have a walbro in at moment
Is it a thought to put back in my std pump until the map ?
I have though means to test the fuel pressure, should be 3.5bar on idle with vac hose disconnected yes ?
