2001 WRX Help
All,
Can anyone help with this?
My WRX wagon has had, literally, a million faults. All these started about 2 weeks after I bought it and I have been chasing these faults for over 18 months now.
Just when I thought I had finally bottomed them all out a new one pops up.
The car cuts out when the the car is up to temp (not hard driving temp, boiled brakes etc..), and the outside air temp is above 17 degrees. If IlLeave the car for 10-15 minutes it will start again.
Plugging in a code reader brought up P1230 (fuel pump controller malfunction) so I bypassed the controller until I found a replacement. The car run OK despite throwing up the last few error codes that I have been chasing (P0546 - exhaust temp high - P1130 bank 1, system 1 Oxygen Sensor open circuit / malfunction - the front Lambda sensor is new).
I fitted a new fuel pump controller on Saturday and the error code cleared instantly.
Driving home from the garage (about 20 miles) brought error code P0546 back on but as this doesn't effect the driving I just reset the management light and carried on.
Driving home from work today (25 mile), a mix of motorway and town traffic all was fine, all normal until I get home, the car cut out as I get onto the driveway and won't start again. Error code P0546 so I left the car for 20 minutes and it starts as normal.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Andrew
