Default whats next????? wrx 343bhp 319 torque

hi all
ive had my 2001 bug eye wrx with 63000 miles for 18 months now bought it on 59000 and modified it quite alot.

heres my spec at the moment
rcm uprated oil pump ,rcm water pump/thermostat
parralel fuel rails, fpr with braided hoses
sti inlet manifold,pink injectors,sti top mount,ihi vf28
stainless headers and uppipe,3 inch exhaust
cdf lightweight pulleys, silicone hoses, blitz induction, forge header tank
gg timing belt, air con removed
and remapped by bob rawle...

bc coilovers, whiteline arb ready and sorting brakes shortly.

so my question is what do i need for more power? is that it as far as my internals will let me? i know il prob have to do gearbox and clutch, any advice welcomed
thanks in advance

You have all ready more power like most of WRX owners and if you are still hungry for power,WRX engine are OK for around 350-400bhp,some running 400bhp few years without the problem, some just break 350bhp and engine go bang...

From this point everything is expensive like engine build(2.1 stroker is very great option or used STi engine, few guys here selling for good money),6 speed or PPG will be next, brakes you will need also there as i said its not cheap,i know from mine experience

As above, you do not want to go too far before you consider your internals.
I am not sure why money has been spent on parallel fuel rails at this level.
What headers do you have? What uppipe?
Subject to info on headers and uppipe you will need a bigger turbo eg TD05 18G or 20G, VF34 or 43. You could fit any of these turbos with a remap but the next factor to limit power will be your pink injectors which can max out around 370-380 bhp. Going beyond that level without considering internals which can be very expensive is probably unwise.

Your gearbox driven sensibly is good to a long way past 400 bhp.
Clutch. Have the money in the bank and change it when it starts to show signs of slipping. A routine job and your car need not be off the road for more than one day.

Have a read here-https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-40/882306-williams-motorsport-meets-enginemapper-the-great-modification-test-mule.html
We have been doing pretty much the same thing in the name of science. weve been pretty busy for the past few weeks but hope to get back on track asap. The next steps for us are going from 320bhp toward 400bhp, so it may be of some use to you............Andy

As Harvey has said...

I've got a TD05 18G and its the best turbo I've ever had (and I've gone thru a few). No need to do the internals, just wack that on and have a remap. Wont hurt to fit a fmic if not done already.
The 20G is too laggy and you'll be disappointed as many ppl I know with them tell me all the time.

Altho you should do your brakes 1st b4 putting even more power in it... the std brakes are cak!

It's a std rear thrust open deck block, I went fully forged as we didn't want to test the limits of the std internals, ive seen far too many in various states of 'broken'. My personal experience is that once you get over 300bhp the std rods and pistons will give up the ghost at some point. It is of course very much down to how it's driven/mapped and looked after.
Weve got a 20G to go on next along with an STI top mount, all being well this should happen in the next few weeks.

I would say sell it, buy an sti and start modding again will be cheapest option in my opinion, just fit a turbo to suit on an sti with exhaust and a remap, possibly injectors dependant what you are aiming for and jobs done.

thanks for all the replies,,very helpful

ive got no intention on selling the car as i absolutely love the colour and ive done alot to it... including full sti interior and carpet, carbon mirrors prodrive mudflaps, alloys, full flocked dash top and bottom.etc..

i have a semi closed block ready to build but not starting it till next year as i have a big family wedding in mexico which is eating my spare cash for now thats why i was considdering a bigger turbo and remap as suggested just for now as i dont drive it that often but love it when i do
thanks again ty

Wait until you can do the engine first, if the engine let go it could mince the turbo and end up causing alot more costly damage, if your short engine is in good condition you can sell that as well.
