well i've done oil change on the classic today its done 100 miles after full rebuild and noticed when on tick over if you touch the throttle very lightly theres about two very faint taps/knocks from engine then goes. i didnt notice it before oil change and filled the filter fully first (took a good twenty mins ) un plugged both crank and cam sensors and cranked engine to get good oil pressure ( 6 bar ) before plugging sensors back in and starting. read a few things on internet about could be it detting? and others say theres have made noise similar for years. whats peoples thoughts? is it normal or should i be pulling engine apart again? thanks.
its a r plate uk2000 and just a standard rebuild with acl bearings. my mate been round ( 15 years vauxhall technician ) and said he wouldn't be worried about it.
bit of update had few mechanics cast their eye / ear over the engine and all said "i wouldn't be worried" but tonight ive just filtered the old oil to inspect and found tiny bits of filing in it :-( the noise hasn't got worse, should i leave it and see if it gets worse? thanks
had a similar issue with mine. sounded like big end. took it for a good raggin and it cleared. never never been a problem since (3 years later). bucket stuck.
