no. you need a programmable ecu. every car is different. if you had exactly the same car, same mods as your mate, your map would be different than your mates. no two cars are the same.

why cant he fit a z4 to it??? its a pretty standard first mod isnt it? ive had a z4 ecu on my uk my96 wagon for a few weeks now and its fine. its coming off soon tho as ive bought a power fc and commander to be mapped. u can pick up a power fc ecu and commander for roughly £400-500.

+1 I have fitted 4 x td05 turbos to 4 wrx autos with td04's on as std, over the last 2 yrs & in 3 of the swaps I have fitted z4 ecu, bar the last one 6 weeks ago where I used a 6k ecu off a V2 sti . All cars have made good power with a significant increase in boost, going from 0.6 bar using a 3B ecu(std)to 0.8 bar with a Z4 ecu , & 1.1 bar with 6k.

If he has a saloon it should already have a Z4. As for the 2 other ecus mentioned in the ESL is superior to the Power FC and cheaper than the price mentioned for the Unichip :-)
