Uppipe on 2002 WRX have o2 sensor?

Does the uppipe on 2002 model have 02 sensor, not wideband but something similar? I've been told not to run wideband sensor in this location as it wont last long, is that right?

IIRC the up-pipe sensor on the WRX is an EGT sensor.........which isn't there on the STi.
