Default Help on building a 400bhp classic

Hi iv bought a 95 wrx sti 555 ra colin mcrae and want to make it to around 400bhp!

Can i habe your ideas on what mods i need to do, in what order and some rough prices!

6 speed conversion? Currently got the ra low ratio box in with dccd.

Forgot to say the car in standard apart from a front mount intercooler and exhaust system.

It has the original closed deck block!

newage sti bottom end £1k -1.5k
6 speed box £1.5k-2k+
sc40 turbo £1k+
uprated clutch £400-£600
550cc injectors £250-£500
ecu + remap £600-£1200

Also consider things like brakes and suspension

Just buy this, much newer, much nicer, much quicker plus its already at 400bhp, mapped by one of the best mappers out there it will cost you the same as getting your car to 400bhp, and its rare as its a limited

Problem is the 400 bhp, Sti's are just about rated to this, strength wise.
Forged pistons and rods are required. To be reliable and give you more scope, if you go for 350 to 370 then the cost comes down, Sti pistons will hold out, but the rods will need replacing with new forged items , again for reliability. Injectors and ECU and upgraded intercooler. 360 is a better figure to aim for!!

Your looking more like 350bhp tops on classic internals and they still let go at that, running 400bhp on standard classic internals is madness unless your loaded and willing just to replace the full engine (not many people have that sort of cash floating around), so run around 340bhp safely(ish) or spend around 10k.
