Yep pretty straight forward.

Thats pretty old technology. There are better options about these days like a ks3 knock anayliser

No its nothing to do with the o/e knock sensor. This is purely a driver aid. What is it your aiming to do?

Mine saved my car this summer, along with my Defi fuel pressure gauge.

You can set the DCefis so that the f/p gauge works with the boost gauge so that it shows differential pressure, ie: how far above boost the f/p is. It should remain the same, so I set the alarm on my Defis to sound if it fell below 3 bar above boost.

It went off, kept chirping at me.

Watching it, I also got signs of knock My K/L has had all the LEDs removed and placed in a quarter circle around the f/p gauge.)

So, I first added octane booster, thinking it might be crap French petrol, (I was in France at the time).

Then, when I STILL saw some knock, I posted on here and was advised to look for split pipes, especially the vac pipe to the f/p regulator.

I did so, and found one. It was cut short to remove the split and is know held on by a tiny stainless jubilee clip instead of just being pushed on.

and ofcourse audible warning and records max knock count oh and frequency adjustable oh and adjustable for the amount of knock it warns of. so yea dearer but better. i have both fitted.

I can see and hear low level knock on the ks3 that the knocklink doesnt light up.

ie my knock count is set at 40 and rarely goes over 35 but the knocklink doesnt light up till the ks3 is reading 90 odd
