Age of UK Turbo/Clutch issue??
Hi,
had the car for a few weeks now (my first scooby, UK Turbo 2000),
Whilst driving home last night i noticed the clutch was beginning to slip when boost comes on.
So today ive been looking at prices on new clutches, the only problem is when phoning around, most places are suggesting there is a choice of two for MY96? apparently 08/1996 they changed?
On my V5 it has date of registration which is 07/08/97
The tenth digit on the vin is a T suggesting MY96
But i just dont know whether it was manufactured before of after aug 96?
Can anyone help with finding manufacture date to the month?
Although part numbers are different will only one fit?
also recommend anywhere to source standard clutch cheap?
will be changing it myself so no need to recommend places to go.
Thanks, James

to be honest i think a standard clutch is all i need,
but places like euro car parts show two different clutches,
somebody must know how to differentiate between pre and post 08/96's...

Yours would be 225mm kit. But both earlier or later kits will fit if getting full clutch kit.
also recommend skimming flywheel and replace flywheel bearing and rear crank seal
