Rear end locking up after fitting new diff.
Hi all, last night I changed the rear diff on my v5 sti, the reason I changed it was because when I was turning tight the rear inside wheel would spin as though the diff was locked. Anyways I got a second hand one off a member on here and after 200 metres of driving I felt a vibrate which turned into a clunk which got to the point were my rear wheels were starting to slip. I personally think I've been sold the wrong ratio diff, what do you guys think. Also just so I'm 100% positive what ratio should be in it?
Many thanks.

But what else could cause that problem?

i believe its the centre differential that fails when transmission wind up occurs and you end up with 2wd,maybe someone can help you out who knows ??
,if the diff was out you would be able to count the teeth/see if theres a mark on the crown wheel for the ratio
i dont want names but was it someone who would know what they are on about who sold you it??

Had this on a legacy I had a few years ago.
I was told there is a sensor that fails on the centre diff causing it to lock.
Was pricey to repair, and it was a mates workshop that did the work. They are a gearbox specialist and this was far from the first one they'd done
