Well, a bit more than 2 secs. Search on here for the best way to fill coolant and remove airlocks. Get it right and you'll not need to worry about the airlock again.

Thats good, I think it is something to do with header tank lid off and running the engine to temp until bubbling stops. The OP will get the good advice soon though, i'm sure.

Had to bleed mine the other day when I changed the rad.

This is what I did

Gently pumped the bottom rad hose so air would be forced up and out of the header tank (cap off obviously).
Kept topping it up with coolant/water until no more would go in
Still with the cap off start the car and wait for the bubbles to stop appearing in the header tank - took about 1min.

Not foolproof by any means, adding water to the header tank can add more air. I hear it's the turbo water pipe (?) is the best place to fill it.

Aha! I was hearing all sorts of bubbling noises near my turbo, I'll need to locate that pipe then I guess

Updated, car has now taken 6 pints of water, and is easily reaching 120ēC. When I spilled water on the hose below the coolant header it turned to steam instantly.

Could it be that they haven't added any coolant at all?

Right, stop now. Let the car cool down or you will do HG damage. 6 pints in a slot just to top up with, but it depends how severe the airlocks are.
