Unhappy Boost Guage woes

Hi all, I have just fitted a spa duel boost oil temp guage, its all functioning and reading,90c for temp max so far etc but the boost is showing a peak of 6.8 - 7.1 psi, ive read a few posts but was wondering is it possible ive plumbed it in the wrong place ? ! looking in the engine bay i have fitted to the vacuum hosing that is attached to the t piece by alternator. Its a 2005 wrx standard apart from panel filter . It feels like it has the same grunt as before but just thinking ive got used to it not being how it should.

It's feasible that the psi reading could be correct, but as long as your taking a vac from the inlet manifold you should be OK. Check the pipe to the boost gauge is not being pinched etc.

The previous poster meant "get a picture up" in full English.

Mine is on a t-piece from the recirc valve, on a newage. No issues whatsoever.

Seen that, and I recognize it, but I don't know what it is.

BTW, 7psi is wastegate pressure so could be a faulty boost solenoid or missing brass pill from the boost pipes between the solenoid and the turbo.

lol its a valve by the alternator um might put pipes back to standard for now. Is the valve a boost solenoid?

Nope, the boost solenoid is under the black cover attached to the driver's side strut tower

just found an old tim guage in garage. Plumbed it in running it under the bonnet to passenger window where my able assistant the (the mrs) held it while i went round the block the results are. . . . . . . . 0.8 bar of boost Which i would think is about right . In summary guage needs repairing. Thanks guys

I would expect nearer 1 bar on a WRX but at least it shows everything seems to be working

Was the 7 psi on the SPA gauge the tell tale reading shown when pressing the red button or the instantaneous reading you spotted while driving?
There's quite a few parameter that can be changed on the SPA and several can lead to a duff reading.
Only reasons for duff readings I've had from SPA gauges are the menu set-up and wiring the back of the connector to sensor wrongly.
The transducer could be playing up though.
