I've been to dealerships that said they'd do it, but others that said its a bad idea because of a 'structural beam' in the roof. Is there any real legitamacy to this?? Is the WRX roof different from the regular impreza roof which does offer a factory moon roof option??

Any thoughts welcome!

Personally i would never have a non factory roof fitted , never had any good experances with them .

I got the same message about the std Imprezza.
The dealership rang IM to enquire about sunroofs and was told that they will be an option for MY03 models (didn't check if that was also the WRX)but cannot be fitted on current version.

Not sure which WRX you mean old shape or new, but for the record, I have a 93WRX with non factory sunroof, it was on the car when I bought it like, had to have sunroof. Anyway, it's a tilt and slide type, so it tilts, but doesn't then slide into the roof, but slides above the roof extrerior much like some kind of fully adjustable roof spoiler. This of course avoids the need to travel back into the roof brace. BUT, I'm not sure if this is the exact reason why it's like it is, it just makes sense now you've mentioned that.

my factory fitted sunroof(my96 uk)) slide over the top of the roof and other ones ive seen does.
