Use of a second hand EcuTek ECU
I am thinking I might upgrade from my MY00 Prodrive ECU to a EcuTek 3 version.
I see a number for sale on here which have obviously been bespoke mapped for specific mods. The spec I indend to run will be different to all the ones I have seen.
Would I be right in thinking that I could buy any EcuTek 3 with a licence and have it mapped to my spec at only the cost of the mappers time?
I would only fit the EcuTek immediatly prior to mapping.

Yes, but the mapper won't be able to alter the map, he will have to start from scratch.
Unless he did the map that is already on the ecu.

I was intending on buying a EcuTek'd ECU with a license then having the map altered to suit my spec. If this can only be done by the original mapper then its not going to be a workable proposition. I'll just stick with my PPP ECU.
