Default MY00 WRX idling a bit funny

as per title my newly acquired classic WRX is hunting when idling. When i bought the car the EML light was on but car idling/driving fine. So i did a ecu code read as shown on JGM 's site and it came up with the code 32 which was throttle position sensor. Having looked at the TPS i noticed the plug connecting to it was not on properly so i pushed it into place and the EML went off however now the car idles lumpy...

So is this an indication that the TPS is knackered?

Cheers

Reset the ecu as per JGM website and see how it idles afterwards.

Hi mate,
have reset the ECU and it shows no faults at all but still idles lumpy. It fluctuates from about 500-800rpm.

Cheers

Take it to a garage that has a Select Monitor (subarus own diagnostic system equipment) get them to plug it in and they should be able to see the various voltages of the various sensors and should spot any problems.

I would guess though possibly the MAF may be failing but internet diagnosis is quite hard

I agree it could well be the MAF as when it goes so does a steady idle.
