Default lights and fuel gadge

i have just bought an 02 bugeye wrx but the light dont turn on an the fuel gadge seems to be stuck any help please

I assume you have the engine running? The lights wont work unless the ignition is on, the fuel gauge wont go down til you use some fuel. With these cars the guage reads all the time even when the car is switched off

thanks but i put £40 in it and the gadge did not move still on a 1/4 of a tank the lights are the head lights they have been changed to hid but the main beam nor the the high beam work when i start the car any help would be great please as i am no good with electrics

Don't think they will be connected.

Have the lights EVER worked? You could try halogen bulbs again, see if the fault is with the HID kit.........deffo not unknown

HAVE you checked the fuses? They are under the bonnet.

As for the gauge, try completely filling it. If still no change, the sender may be stuck, it will need removing and freeing off.+
