Hi i have fault code p1496 coming up i got a fault reader and that is what it is showing 1 error does anyone know what it is and how to fix it many thanks.

P1496 EGR Solenoid Valve Signal #3 Circuit Malfunction (Low Input)

thanks any idea how id go about fixing it? is it a big problem?

 

Best bet is visit in your area Subaru specialist and how much for fixing,not sure,how much cost new.

This problem will cause Misfire,rough idle and more problems.

so i took off the EGR and cleaned with injector carb cleaner and loads of dirt came out put it back on light was still on so read codes and erased them it then went off took it out for a spin and it still stayed off with no error codes so i hope that i managed to sort it out now it does seem to be running abit better also.

 

Looking like you are manage to clean and hope CEL will not return.
Sometimes good clean is needed

yep has *** in useful lol OBD-II reader 20quid bargain dont know weather the II makes any difference went for the U480 one !
