Boost
Hey i got a my98 classic . Had it about a week. The bloke used it as a daily drive before . It seems to hold 19psi and seems smooth. First thing I thought was a manual boost controller turned up. But there is nothin in place everythink looks normal. It's got a receipt from 2001 saying fuel cut module input on car in 2001. How can I tell if it's got a uprated fuel pump? There is 100% NOT got a boost co tolled? How is it running that boost? Ecu related ?Cheers

You cant tell if its had a new pump unless u look in the tank.
It may be worth haveing a look under the passenger footwell at the ECU and see if its standard, the car may have been mapped.
If it was me i would get the car cheched out and see if the AFR's are ok

Fuel cut defenders are a bad thing, its basically removing a safety from youre ECU. As the voltage rises from the sensor to the max, the fuel cut stops the voltage from going higher fooling the ECU that all is well.
I am modding my WRX (93) and dont boost it until its set up on a dyno or road set up to check for det and air fuel ratios. Apperently and I am so subaru expert, these engines do not give a great margin of eror unlike some nissans and fords.

just checked the actuator arm and its not pre loaded .with the it closed the actuator arm fits on without pulling it out. the length is like right size. on my last classic 4 years ago the arm was pre loaded by 1mm so i had to pull it out to make it fit. This MY98 has no preload its just snug if u get my drift???

The solenoid also has restrictor pills in-line to restrice or increase boost depending. If the car runs fine, and you are happy then no worries, but I would pay for a 70Quid dyno run with det and afr check to see its all ok, then you can drive without ant worries !!
