help with clutch please
hi guys i have a impreza 2.0 turbo wrx my96 about to do the clutch is there a how to on here or can someone point me in the right direction someone has said the the front exauhst has to come of for easier acces???

Depends how handy you are with spanners and what equipment you have
Some prefer to remove the gearbox which is a sodding heavy lump and I would allow about 8 hours to do this by yourself. With help on a 2 post ramp you can do it in about 4 hours providing nothing is stuck (two mating dowels are famous for this)
Personally I prefer to hoick out the engine. Can change an engine in 6 hours on my own in safety and much of the disconnection procedure is the same anyway ie, intercooler out, starter out, remove clutch pivot un unbolt engine from gearbox etc

Don't forget to get a pilot bearing and rear crank seal, and have a good flywheel handy just in case the original is scored/worn.

Having done 2 gearbox changes and 2 engine changes would not even consider trying to hump the box out with the car on axle stands, too much like hard work and too dangerous.....
