Default faulty oil temp gauge

Hi all, my oil temp gauge is behaving strange lately, when i switch the ignition on it moves straight to 70 degrees and stays there till i turn the ignition off. Is it likely to be the gauge or the sender??
thanks!!

I've replaced the sender once and its still not right which is why I thought it might be the actual gauge.
