Exhaust sounds hollow & not boosting correctly
hi,
Not been here in a while had no real probs with the scoob until now!.
I have noticed that the turbo is not boosting to 0.8 bar which i think is the standard bar for the uk 2000 and is only going to around 0.6 bar. I also had on the way home from work i booted it and got fuel cut! never had that before, to add to this the exhaust sounds very different, not getting that deep sharp crisp burbble i normally had, its kinda hollow and raspy and sounds well quite bad.
Did a error code check and got a code 24 idle valve, even tho it seems to idle ok, its only hunted a couple of times but has stopped doing that now. would the idle valve cause the other probs im getting?
I have had a look at pipe work etc and can see nothing wrong there.
She has a stainless system from the turbo back with a decat, HKS back box with powerflow piping i hate to say (looks like it was made by a blind monkey!) Could there be a blown exhaust gasket at the manifold or even a hole in the manifold? or a fubar turbo?
any help would be great
cheers
