265ps (well that was what Prodrive put their performance pack to on the later cars )
How many miles on your car?
How well serviced?
Hows it been treated?

There are far too many variables to go to this, it could run 280bhp fine, it could put a rod through the block, but the thing you have to understand that if you modify your car then the greater the risk of something failing, especially on a wrx.

New age or Classic?
On New age 2.0L i would run to 400bhp,on classic 330-350bhp.
And as above depends on more factors than oil change etc.

I'd be happy to run something like a Vf35 / TD05 16G at 330 ish BHP on a bug WRX internals in good nick.......but not driven like a nutter.

My 400 BHP on Bug internals is probably asking for trouble if I drove it properly LOL

Yes i would do this on standard internals, but as said before depends on more than one factor.Recommend you visit your nearest Subaru specialisst and ask for Health check,Compression test and det check,AFR check etc. and from this you will know what will be best.

My blob wrx is running mid 370s at the moment and its been happy at that so far.

It's got 44k miles on it, and about 1k of those are at track. The rest is mixed motorway and b roads.

I was running my bug Wrx at 344bhp for two years and I don't drive like a fanny either. A few grudgment days thrown into the mix as well. Very regular servicing and mechanical sympathy with regards to warm up, cool down and no crazy launches are essential though, Unless you like changing gearboxes and picking Conrod out of your shins. I would be slightly wary with those miles unless you have known the car from new. Any damage caused by neglect will soon rear it's ugly head when your asking the engine for an extra 150 horse power.
