Default Oil Pressure : Worrying a bit

Hi Guys,

Done a load of work on the car lately, well new turbo, remap and oil change (after finding fuel in oil due to missfire)

Anyway, i first thought this issue was due to fuel in oil, but seems to be the same symptoms (may even be a dodgy guage seeing as the only one that seems to work properly at the moment is oil temp)

Anyway, first start the car up from cold and it reads oil pressure as it should normally, but as soon as the car warms up, the oil pressure drops, as it should, but when I increase the revs, the oil pressure goes down (and not up like it should), then when on idle, the pressure goes back up to normal.

Seems very strange, checked the connector on the sender unit, cut the wire and stripped it back again as it was a bit corroded, but still the same (well reading a little better)

I just hope its the gauge playing up, but if its not, what else should/could I check?

No oil light comes up on the dash though?

Can't say I can help with the symptoms, but the oil light only comes on when there is literally no oil in there and it is by that time too late!

All I could say is try another gauge/sender? If still the same you may want to consider getting your oil pump replaced or just getting a specialist to take a look?

Meanwhile, and more importantly, what IS your oil pressure doing? Get it checked by a specialist asap.

You're not using those iffy Prosport gauges by any chance, are you?

Its a swoosh gauge. Been dodgy before. Looking at a prosport guage or auto guage stepper to replace it with.

You sure you got it wired in right James ?

Get it checked with a known reliable gauge.
